I wanted to give a big shout out to a new book by Scot Wilson. The title is Steering Through Chaos and it's a must read. If you are a church pastor or leader and change is on the way for your church Scot has a great word for you. That word is, "Change is good." Many times change brings a feeling of fright but it doesn't have to be that way. In this book pastor Scot gives great insight into how to lead a staff through changing structure and transition. The best part is how he encourages each leader to make difficult choices that keeps the staff and church moving forward with joy. If your looking for a great read then pick this one up.
If you would like to see a video of Scot talking about his book click here.
Peace,
Pastor Steve
This Sunday Feb 28th at The Salt Mine Church I will be starting a new four week series. Using Acts 2:42 as the foundation.
Acts 2:42
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
I will take our church through the four foundational marks of the early church. We will take a look at the fruit it produced in their lives and communities and we will look at how it can still do the same today in our lives and communities.
We will center in on what the true church is. The true church is you and I living these four marks each and everyday until Jesus comes again.
If your in the Charlotte area we invite you to come be a part of what God is doing in West Charlotte. Join us each Sunday at 11am. We meet at 1900 Queen City Dr.
If you would like to hear our Sunday messages you can do that by going to our podcast or Itunes. I hope to see you there. Keep The Salt Mine in your prayers.

14 years ago today I stood in a hospital room in California. I was getting ready to be a daddy for the first time. Over the months leading up to the birth of my little girl I felt like I knew her already. I spent a lot of time placing my ear against my wife's belly just to hear and feel her move around. I spoke to her and prayed for her many nights even while my wife was asleep. My little girl took my breath then and she still takes my breath today. The moment I saw her for the first time I cried with the greatest joy I had ever felt. She changed my life in one moment of time and she still has that affect on me today. Madison, I'm so proud of you. I'm proud to call you my daughter and I love you with all of my heart. Life has great things for you and I can't wait to cheer you on. I hope this day for you is a great one and I just wanted you to know that I love you with all of my soul. I pray for you daily and I will always be here for you. Count on it!
Love ,
Dad
We are getting ready for the Miracle Mall December the 19th from 10am to 5pm at our 2xsalt location. The mall will be full of toys for kids that we serve in our community. Toys and other items have been donated to us and they will be priced very reasonable in order to benefit the parents who otherwise could not afford full price. We desire them to be able to shop with dignity. Keep our Miracle Mall in your prayers this year. If your would like to contribute to our mall we have a drop off at our campus Dec 5th between the hours of 3 and 6 pm. Come drop off a toy and see our new building. For more information call us at 704-393-3939.

Pastor Steve
We are getting ready for our Miracle Mall Christmas Story in December. Today at the 2xsalt site we were blessed to have a group of kids from Charlotte Christian come by and start helping us go through all of our donated toys. They were so much fun to work with. Thanks Charlotte Christian School. You guys rock!
Listening to God is a grand adventure and He gets our attention in many different ways. One of the ways is a restless spirit. There will be times when you can't seem to put your finger on what is going on in your life but you know something is just not the way it needs to be. When that time comes the best thing to do is slow down your life and thoughts and listen for God. He's trying to speak and maybe, just maybe, you have been to busy to listen.
Peace,
Pastor Steve
Worship! What is it?
We start a new series Sunday the 15th at The Salt Mine Church. If you live in the Charlotte area we would love to have you visit our church. We meet at 1900 Queen City Dr. Charlotte and the service starts at 11am.
Worship. We hear the word a lot in church services. We are asked each Sunday to worship God through singing. Worship has become it's own style in Contemporary Christian music but what does it mean? The answer comes when we look at the life of Jesus. How did Jesus speak about worship? The answer is simple...he didn't.
He didn't talk much about worship because he didn't have to. His life told what worship was therefore His mouth didn't have to.
Come join us and find out the rest of the story.
Here our Sunday messages at http://thesaltminechurch.podbean.com
